Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB, Indianapolis Colts. . Jacoby Brissett. 1. player. 46

Brissett’s 30 NFL starts for the Colts have come under some hardly ideal circumstances. The Colts traded for him late in the 2017 preseason, before Andrew Luck eventually missed all of that season with a shoulder injury. The Colts were simply not a talent-laden roster in 2017, as Brissett took a league-high 52 sacks in 15 games and he learned a new system. In 2019 Luck retired in late-August, leaving Brissett with little time before Week 1 to prepare as the starter.

After being top-10 in the league in pass rate and offensive pace with Luck in 2018, the Colts changed their offense with Brissett last year (bottom-10 in pace, top-five run play rate). That can be perceived as a knock on him, but he was pretty efficient (60.9 percent completion rate, 18 TD, 6 INT).

A knee injury in the eighth game last year, after which he only missed one game, created a definite split in Brissett’s 2019 campaign.

First six games: 14 touchdowns, three interceptions, 65 percent completion rate, 101.0 passer rating

Final seven games: four touchdowns, three interceptions, 56.4 percent completion rate, 75.0 passer rating

Brissett is in the final year of his contract, with a roughly $12.5 million prorated cap hit for the rest of the season. But the Cowboys more than enough cap space ($23.8 million) to take that on. It would be interesting to see what Brissett could do with a very good set of weapons around him, and if he were unleashed even a little bit as a passer.
