AL. Minnesota Twins. 1. player. 2. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Central

The Twins are going to be a team that lives and dies by the long ball, but neglecting the starting rotation isn’t going to do anyone any good by the time the postseason hits. Kenta Maeda was rock solid and Jose Berrios is nasty when he can control himself, but Rich Hill is going to be 41 next year and Michael Pineda hasn’t made 30 starts since 2016. Morton will have a few suitors in free agency, but Minnesota could be his best landing spot.

Minnesota’s “Bomba Squad” wasn’t as dominant as they were in 2019, but bringing back a mostly unchanged lineup will have the Twins in the thick of the AL Pennant race once again due to the weak AL Central. However, as proven in the Astros series, a weak starting rotation in the playoffs might be too much to overcome. Maeda, Morton, and Berrios, when the latter has his breaking ball working, are a filthy top of the rotation, and it could help them separate in what could be a crowded American League.
