LeBron James sees himself in DK Metcalf, even calling the Seahawks wide receiver “Baby Bron” on Instagram.

LeBron James had the ultimate praise for DK Metcalf during Seattle’s win over San Francisco on Sunday.

The all-time great on the basketball court compared the Seahawks wide receiver to himself.

“We built different,” read James’ Instagram story.

James had good reason to build the hype around Metcalf, who went off against the 49ers with 12 catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

DK Metcalf is dominating defenders like LeBron James

Metcalf only had two catches for five yards last week in a loss to the Cardinals, but his legend grew when he ran down Arizona’s Budda Baker to deny a pick-six touchdown.

The 6-foot-4 powerhouse of a receiver has come into his own in his second year as a pro. He already has matched last year’s touchdown total of seven. Sunday was his third 100-yard outing of the season, surpassing the two games he managed as a rookie.

Not only is he big, but he’s fast to a degree that’s just not fair for someone of his size.

He was accused of being a bit of a Combine warrior in the lead up to the 2019 NFL Draft, but the second-round pick Seattle used on him is paying off in a huge way now. No one is doubting his ability to play wide receiver at a high level now.

In some ways, Metcalf is doing what people have speculated James could have done had he gone the route of playing football instead of basketball. At 6-foot-8, he would have made a formidable target as a tight end.

Not many people could call Metcalf a “baby” but when the comparison is to LeBron James, it definitely fits.
