Scouting Report. 1. AFC. North. Pittsburgh Steelers. player. Pick Analysis. 55

The Steelers are rolling right now, as a ferocious defense and efficient quarterback play from Ben Roethlisberger as the only unbeaten team in the league. Even with that dominance so far, things aren’t all rosy in Pittsburgh, as the imminent departure of the 38-year-old Roethlisberger in the near future could leave this team without a quarterback to lead them for most of the next decade. If they are able to pilfer Minshew before the deadline, Pittsburgh could get either an A+ backup quarterback or their potential 2021 starter.

Mason Rudolph might be a solid backup, but last year proved he isn’t franchise quarterback material. With Roethlisberger potentially facing the end of his football career, a win-now team like Pittsburgh might choose someone with some experience as a starter as opposed to anointing a draft pick as their next savior.

Minshew stepping onto a team with that defense and those receivers could keep Pittsburgh as a perennial playoff power.
