DK Metcalf – Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks’ second-year wideout produced another spectacular performance in their 37-27 win over the San Francisco 49ers, shredding a defense that entered Week 8 ranked eighth in Football Outsiders DVOA for 12 catches, 161 yards and two touchdowns.

Proving close to unguardable with his combination of size and frightening speed, which came to the fore as he scored the game’s first touchdown on a 46-yard catch and run, Metcalf finished Sunday with 40.1 points in PPR scoring.

It was comfortably Metcalf’s best display of the season and marked his third 100-yard effort of 2020. He has scored in all but two of his seven games this season and just once — in the Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals — has he failed to put up double-digit fantasy points.

Only once this season has he been targeted fewer than six times by Russell Wilson, who can now legitimately claim to have two number one caliber wideouts in Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Playing in the most explosive offense in football with the MVP frontrunner, Metcalf is averaging 11.5 yards per target and leads the NFL with seven touchdowns.

Simply put, he is a big-play machine in the perfect spot to cement himself as one of the league’s premier wide receivers. From a fantasy perspective, at this point if you have either Lockett or Metcalf, you are starting them irrespective of the matchup.
