Brandon Aiyuk – San Francisco 49ers

It was a bleak day for the 49ers in the Pacific Northwest, with San Francisco seeing Jimmy Garoppolo leave the game in the fourth quarter as he struggled to perform on a sprained ankle before star tight end George Kittle exited with what was on Monday revealed to be a fractured foot.

With Garoppolo now expected to be out indefinitely and Kittle sidelined for eight weeks, there is not much reason for optimism around a team whose hopes of a return to the Super Bowl have been decimated by a swathe of injuries.

However, one bright spot against Seattle was the continued strong play of rookie wide receiver Aiyuk, who followed up a 100-yard game in the win over the New England Patriots with an eight-catch performance that saw him finish with 91 yards and a touchdown, good for 23.1 points in PPR scoring

With Kittle on the sidelines for the foreseeable future and Deebo Samuel hobbled with a hamstring injury that will keep him out of Thursday’s game with the Green Bay Packers, Aiyuk stands as the obvious top target in a 49ers passing game set to be helmed by Nick Mullens while Garoppolo is out.

Given what he has done with his 18 targets of the past two weeks and the rapport he demonstrated with Mullens earlier in the season, Aiyuk is a receiver fantasy players can trust as a high-upside flex going forward.
