45. . 3-5. Previous: . Denver Broncos. 28. team

The team had an opportunity to get back to the .500 mark if they could knock off the Falcons at Atlanta. Denver’s running game wasn’t much of a factor as quarterback Drew Lock was the team’s leading rusher with 47 yards. The second-year hurler would throw for 313 yards and two touchdowns but was also picked off once. Rookie wideout Jerry Jeudy caught seven passes for 125 yards and one score but the Broncos dug themselves too big of a hole.

. 2-7. Previous: . Dallas Cowboys. 27. team. 123

The struggling Cowboys turned to their fourth different starting quarterback in Garrett Gilbert as the club hosted the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. And Mike McCarthy’s team appeared primed to pull off the upset as Dallas opened up a 13-0 lead in the second quarter. Mike Nolan’s defense played pretty respectable football for the majority of the game but couldn’t hold off Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ passing attack when it counted.

3-6. Previous: . Atlanta Falcons. 26. team. 44.

Dating back to Week 7 of 2016 and including Super Bowl LI, the Falcons owned a disappointing 2-13 in their last 15 contests vs. AFC teams as they hosted the Broncos. Quarterback Matt Ryan did throw one interception but also connected for three scores and 284 yards through the air. The Falcons owned a 34-13 lead with 9:05 to play and Denver came roaring back but Raheem Morris’ defense held off Drew Lock and company for the seven-point win.

10. . 2-6. Previous: . Houston Texans. 25. team

The Texans were back in action after a week off and looked for their sixth consecutive win over the rival Jaguars. Quarterback Deshaun Watson had a solid afternoon, throwing for 281 yards and a pair of scores and totaling a team-high 50 yards rushing. Wideout Will Fuller wound up with 100 yards receiving but 77 came on a touchdown grab. The shaky Houston defense allowed 212 yards but J.J. Watt came up with a huge sack and forced fumble late.
