Breaking news has arrived out of Pittsburgh, as starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is among four Steelers players to be placed on the Reserve-COVID-19 list.

Some downright concerning news has arrived for the Pittsburgh Steelers. First, it was revealed that tight end Vance McDonald has tested positive for the coronavirus. Immediately, fans became worried cases might spread among the team.

Well, on Tuesday morning, the Steelers have announced that four players have been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list due to being high-risk, close-contacts with McDonald. Among those four players is superstar signal-caller Ben Roethlisberger, who just powered the team to a comeback win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The four Steelers player must now isolate for the next five days

Joining Roethlisberger on the Reserve/COVID-19 list is offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins, running back Jaylen Samuels and linebacker Vince Williams. Per multiple reports, all four players must now isolate for the next five days.

The Steelers are all set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon. Obviously, this latest update is a major bummer for the team, as they’ll be forced to practice without the four players throughout the week.

For Roethlisberger, he was already listed as questionable for the showdown with Cincinnati after injuring both of his knees in the win over Dallas in Week 9. However, the expectation was that he’d be able to power through and hit the field to face Joe Burrow and the rest of the Bengals. Things of course could change with him not being able to practice for at least the next five days.

Following the victory over Dallas, Pittsburgh is a perfect 8-0 on the year and they’re the only undefeated squad left in the NFL. Stay tuned if Roethlisberger will be available to try and help the team get to 9-0 this weekend.
