Texas A&M-Tennessee football game latest SEC postponement
By John Buhler
Texas A&M at Tennessee has been postponed.
Texas A&M will have to wait to play Tennessee a little longer after it was postponed due to COVID concerns.
It is not shaping up to be a banner week for the SEC. this is the third game postponed following No. 24 Auburn Tigers vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs and Alabama’s game with LSU postponed with no available makeup date to fit the game in so it may be the first game outright canceled
A coronavirus wave following Halloween is hitting the SEC hard
Up until this point, the SEC only had to postpone two games this season because of coronavirus outbreaks within the Florida Gators and the Vanderbilt Commodores. But with Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State and Texas A&M all having issues entering Week 11, we may be on the precipice of our first SEC game getting canceled this season. The league has flexibility, but only so much.
There is a strong possibility only four of seven SEC games are played this week. Even if that is the case, Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman will not be able to coach against the Florida Gators after he tested positive. While the SEC had done a find job fighting the virus for the first several weeks of the season, the after effects from Halloween partying have reigned supreme.
Because Texas A&M is a College Football Playoff contender, the SEC will try to get this game in.
