Trash talking in sports, trash talking in politics, it all goes together, right?

No matter where you are, who you are or what you believe, everyone who isn’t a fan loves to troll the Dallas Cowboys. Now, the trash talking on “America Team” is going all the way to political spectrum as an insult from one to another.

On Tuesday, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced he’d pay up to $1 million for anyone who presents proof of voter fraud anywhere found after the 2020 election. Wednesday morning, Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman responded by mocking him, while also taking a shot at the Cowboys along the way.

Fetterman doubled-downed on the claim by bringing up how his Pittsburgh Steelers are 8-0 for the first time in franchise history on CNN, once again mocking Jerry Jones’ squad.

The Cowboys are bad, politics aside

Fetterman’s claim does have some merit behind it after Pittsburgh picked up the 24-19 victory at AT&T Stadium Sunday afternoon. Dallas led by a touchdown entering the final quarter before Ben Roethlisberger connected with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Eric Ebron late for 15 points, thus sealing the victory.

Sitting at 2-7 now, Dallas is in a tie with the New York Giants for last place in the NFC East. The offense continues to struggle without an established quarterback while weapons like Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup are limited. Meanwhile, the Cowboys defense continues to allow teams to run all over them week in and out.

It also probably doesn’t help that Fetterman’s other team (jurisdiction-wise…he’s from Pittsburgh), the Philadelphia Eagles, rank at the top of the standings with a 3-4-1 record. Will Jones admit the season is over? No, probably not. At least we can all agree that the dumpster fire down in Arlington is well deserving of some trash talk in 2020.
