College football DFS quarterback picks November 14:

Top Tier:

The Virginia Tech defense isn’t what it used to be and D’Eriq King is coming off a monster last week. This is going to result in high ownership on King. For this reason I’m not going heavy on him, but this is a really tough fade in any format. King could be in for another big one.

The Middle Tennessee defense isn’t that bad. I’ll take the bit of a discount and ride Kedon Slovis against Arizona. Slovis threw 55 passes against Arizona State. I don’t think he gets that mark here, but I do think Slovis comes up with a couple more touchdowns against the Wildcats defense.

I really have no idea what to do with Malik Cunningham. This is a decent matchup against a Virginia defense that has been exposed, but I don’t trust this Louisville offense all that much. I wont have much exposure here, but Cunningham is a decent dart.

Middle Tier:

We saw Iowa pile it on Sparty last week. Now it’s Indiana’s turn. Michael Penix is far more talented than anyone Iowa has. I really like the upside on Penix here. He’s the one middle tier guy that could perform like a top tier one.

Lost in this season for Louisville is just how bad that defense has been. They are allowing 187 rushing yards and almost 200 passing yards per game. Big deal, right? Well, it is when Brennan Armstrong has led the team in carries over the last two weeks. There’s plenty to like about Armstrong here.

I really hate playing Charlie Brewer. I see little to no improvement over his last couple of seasons despite solid pieces on the Baylor offense. Texas Tech’s defense has been atrocious though. If Brewer is ever going to get it done, it should be here.

Bargain Shoppers:

We all figured that Rocky Lombardi would be handled by Iowa and he was. Indiana’s explosive offense helps make up for a questionable defense. Lombardi is a lock for somewhere in the 20’s for DraftKings points. That’s a good return on this investment.

North Carolina’s pass defense has been pretty bad. Sam Hartman has an average arm, but he plays smart. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him put up some good numbers here. That said, I think Phil Jurkovec is still really underpriced and has a better chance at putting up numbers on the Irish.

One thing is for sure: the Penn State defense is a sore spot. Nebraska switched over to Luke McCaffrey last week after a poor performance by Adrian Martinez. The Cornhuskers may finally make the chance to McCaffrey here. If they do, he’s WAY too cheap.
