Pick Analysis. ACC. . Louisville Cardinals. Scouting Report. 2. player. 849

It’s been a tale of two seasons for former Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield during his time with the Cardinals. After taking over a two-win team, his decision to ride with Micale Cunningham over Jawon Pass at quarterback helped the Cardinals with eight games, one of which was a bowl game win over Mississippi State. With just two wins in seven tries this year for the Cardinals, Satterfield knows he needs a big splash to save his job next season, and Blackman might be able to provide it.

While he might not be as nifty a runner as Cunningham, Blackman’s long strides could make him a weapon in the ground game. Blackman has a superior arm when compared to Cunningham, as his arm strength and willingness to fit the ball into tight windows give him a much higher ceiling than Cunningham, even if it can get him into trouble due to overaggressiveness.

Bobby Petrino offered him out of high school, but Satterfield might be the right coach to get the most out of Blackman. Even if Javian Hawkins and Tutu Atwell declare for the draft, the Cardinals should have enough weapons to become one of the ACC’s most efficient, productive offenses if they get Blackman.
