10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 10
By Dustin Baker
3. Emmanuel Sanders (NO)
Game: San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints (Sunday, 11/15, 1:00 pm EST)
On paper, Emmanuel Sanders is the perfect WR2 that has long eluded Drew Brees. For the last several years, it’s been Michael Thomas as WR1 and then generic pass-catchers aplenty on the team’s depth chart after Thomas.
Sanders did not explode out of the gate in New Orleans. It didn’t help matters that he contracted the coronavirus thereafter. He notched a big game before COVID exposure, and he scored last week upon returning to the Saints lineup.
This week, Brees and Sanders will face a depleted 49ers team. The teams combined for 94 points in a 2019 matchup, so a redux might be upcoming. Start Sanders knowing he’s taking over the WR2 role just in time for the important part of New Orleans’ schedule.
4. Jarvis Landry (CLE)
Game: Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns (Sunday, 11/15, 1:00 pm EST)
Landry is Cleveland’s WR1 and will be so indefinitely. Odell Beckham is lost for the rest of the 2020 season. Two things advocate for Landry in Week 10. First, the Browns must rebound from an anemic performance before their bye week. The Las Vegas Raiders held Cleveland to six piddling points — not a good look for an offensive-minded head coach in Kevin Stefanski. A thirst to turn things around in Week 10 is a good omen for Landry. And, the Texans secondary is not very ferocious. They ranked 22nd in the NFL in passing yards allowed.
