The Miami Dolphins have not faltered one bit since making the switch from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Tua Tagovailoa.

The Miami Dolphins are now 6-3 and the past three wins have come with Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback.

The rookie signal-caller took over for Ryan Fitzpatrick when the Dolphins were 3-3. The veteran was playing great and was openly upset about the move. There were rumors at the time that the Dolphins wanted to see what they had with their rookie in an audition of sorts before entering the 2021 NFL Draft with a high pick courtesy of the Houston Texans. It is now clear that Tagovailoa is out there to help the team win.

The Dolphins have now beat the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Chargers with their rookie quarterback. The 6-3 record has the team in the heart of the AFC playoff race and only one win back of the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills. Both teams are set to square off in Week 17 in what could be a division-deciding game.

Fitzpatrick had several games where he threw for over 300 yards. Tagovailoa has yet to reach that mark, but his efficiency has been the key. He now has five touchdown passes and, most importantly, zero interceptions. The rookie went 15/25 Sunday against the Chargers and finished with 169 yards and two touchdowns. He did nothing to make his team lose and is already less erratic than Fitzpatrick was known to be in the past.

This is quite the pleasant surprise for Dolphins fans. Tagovailoa was taken with the No. 5 overall pick and there were questions surrounding his health after the hip injury he suffered at Alabama in 2019. The 22-year-old appears to be just fine and is making it clear he is the quarterback of the future in Miami. The team can now build around him with all the extra draft capital at their disposal and not take yet another young quarterback.

The Dolphins seemed to have made a mistake by moving on from Ryan Tannehill. Landing Tagovailoa and having him lead the team to the postseason would help the franchise enter a new era that should last for quite some time.
