DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

When you add all of the injuries and questionable tags to the fact that Alexey Shved has a poor matchup, the upper tier thins out quickly. That said, Shved hasn’t had below 33 DraftKings points in any of his three games. He’s a sure 30 if you’re willing to pay for it with the potential for more.

Mike James will play after missing round 8 to a disciplinary reason. Said reason was a disagreement with the coach and therein lies the problem. This is a nice matchup for James, but if the coach really wants to get to him, he could use James sparingly. For this reason, he’s a GPP only play.

Vasilije Micic was outstanding on Friday, but this is not a good matchup and with Larkin’s impending return, it could cut in on his action. There are better places to attack today.

Last week those of us that ran Pierria Henry were pretty pissed off by the fact that he hadn’t scored after the first 35 minutes of the game. Henry made up for lost time by scoring a flurry of 17 points in the last five minutes of the game. Henry’s ability to score in a flurry and his healthy peripheral stats make him a strong play nearly every time out.

We thought Lorenzo Brown would smash with Nando out but that was not the case. Fenerbahce scored just 55 points the entire game! However, Brown was the only guy in double figures in scoring and will have high usage again in a bit easier of a matchup. I’m not sure what the ceiling is here for Brown, but the floor is very solid.

Now is not the time to use Kevin Pangos. His price is up from his hot start and he is in the midst of a horrid shooting slump. Add the questionable tags on Beaubois and Grigonis, and the middle tier thins out quickly. I still like Wade Baldwin in any matchup. If you’re willing to roll the dice on guys in good matchups. Thomas Walkup and Daniel Hackett fit that bill. Hackett has a higher floor, but Walkup is the guy that can change a slate, for better or worse.

Klemen Prepelic led the Spanish league in scoring last season. After a slow start, he’s making his assault on the EuroLeague scoring title as well. Prepelic has a solid matchup here. If you don’t want the risk of relying on a scorer only, Luca Vildoza is still one of the best point-per-dollar plays around on DraftKings.

The return of James is going to prevent Darrun Hilliard from backing up his career performance last round, but he’s still a good play. CSKA isn’t deep at guard still. James is going to steal a lot of the shots, but Hilliard should still provide a solid return for the price.

The return of Jokubaitis is going to cut in on the action of Lukas Lekavicius. We need another place for value. Fenerbahce is the obvious place to look. Ali Muhammad has been so good off the bench that the team moved Leo Westermann to the starting lineup in place of Nando instead. I prefer Westermann here, but Muhammad is still a solid play. He’ll see plenty of minutes.

Shelvin Mack exploded on the scene last week for Athens, and he is still very underpriced on DraftKings. If Nedovic returns, it will cut in on Mack’s action, but he’s still cheap enough to roll with.
