Eagles HC Doug Pederson wasn’t happy with his introduction on radio show
By Mike Luciano
Doug Pederson is infuriated about the state of the Eagles and their fans.
By virtue of tripping over themselves the fewest amount of times, the Philadelphia Eagles remain the NFC East division leaders with a 3-5-1 mark. However, a loss to the New York Giants last week helped Daniel Jones and company get to 3-7, and the Eagles’ next two games coming against the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks might make it hard to hold on to that division lead.
The Philadelphia fans, as famously angry and reactionary as they are, agreed that head coach Doug Pederson is to blame for this record, with 72 percent of fans believing that he is the main problem with this team. When informed of this unfortunate little nugget of information on the WIP morning show, Pederson was so irate that he almost hung up the phone.
Doug Pederson’s offense has been the main reason the Eagles are struggling
While the Eagles have been dealt injuries at nearly every level of the offense, Pederson, a former quarterback and offensive coordinator, is in charge of one of the league’s worst collective units. Pederson’s decision to not hire an offensive coordinator after firing Mike Groh in the offseason while retaining playcalling duties has helped Carson Wentz regress in a major way. Wentz has accounted for 17 total touchdowns against 12 interceptions, the latter of which is the most in the league.
Choosing not to use stud running back Miles Sanders as often as he should and using second-round quarterback Jalen Hurts as a Wildcat quarterback for two plays every game also stand out as aspects of this offense that are completely backwards. Pederson is clearly getting testy with the media, as he knows that his Eagles should, by all means, be running away with this division.
Pederson will be Philly royalty for the rest of his life after getting the franchise their first Super Bowl ring, but he has looked completely outgunned. If the Eagles lose their grip in the worst division in the league, the calls for Pederson’s head will only increase.
