Carson Wentz hasn’t been having a good time against the Dallas Cowboys defense on Sunday night.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys were doing battle on Sunday night for their coveted third win of the season. It just sho happens that that third “W” gives that team the lead in the weak NFC East. While Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz threw a touchdown pass in the first half, he did have one of the worst fumbles we’ve ever seen. Well, he just added a second fumble in the game.

With over 11 minutes on the clock in the second quarter, Wentz and the Eagles attempted to convert a fourth down and three situation. They didn’t receive the end result they had so desired, because the Eagles offensive line left a huge gap open for Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, who then knocked Wentz off his feet and forced the fumble. The Cowboys recovered the ball, while Wentz was recovering from the massive hit he took.

Wentz’s fumbling woes continue

Look, we can’t necessarily fault Wentz on this one, because the offensive line parted like the Red Sea, giving Vander Esch a clear path to attack. However, this will show up on Wentz’s record, as he now has 55 fumbles in 64 career games. Yikes.

Luckily, the Eagles defense has held their own against the Cowboys, led seventh-round rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci thus far. Regardless, the Eagles need Wentz to showcase better ball security if they want to stand any chance of winning the division and earn a playoff berth.
