Several teams should be calling Theo Epstein right away in an attempt to have him run their respective organizations.

Theo Epstein is out in Chicago and that means a top executive is sitting without a job. He helped bring a World Series title back to Boston and did the same for the Cubs. Epstein is going to be a hot commodity and did say he doesn’t expect to be with a team next season. However, he has said the same in the past and has not seemed able to stay away from the game. Three teams in particular stand out as those who should be giving him a call right away.

3. Los Angeles Angels

The Angels spend like a winning team and have one of the greatest players to ever play the game in Mike Trout. Yet somehow, the team last made the postseason in 2014 and was promptly swept in the ALDS. Billy Epler was fired as the GM this offseason and was replaced by Perry Minasian. Ownership is seeking any sort of fix and putting Epstein in charge of the entire baseball side of the franchise is a no-brainer.

He would inherit a team that already has both Trout and Anthony Rendon in place as two stars. There should be no drama with Trout, because of the fact he has gotten his mega-deal. The key here is Epstein figuring out the best roster construction to not only get the Angels into the postseason but to compete for a World Series. Joe Maddon is in place as the manager in Anaheim and the duo could do it all over again as they did in 2016.
