The Chiefs seem to have some extra motivation to take down the Raiders this Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 8-1 this season and appear to be Super Bowl favorites yet again. But the team hasn’t been perfect and the one loss on the year is evidence.

The Las Vegas Raiders came to Arrowhead in Week 5 and took home a dramatic 40-32 victory. Oh, that was not all. The team also took some victory laps around the stadium in their bus following the win and that has clearly ticked off plenty of people in Kansas City. Andy Reid already spoke about the disrespect and Travis Kelce echoed those words as well.

Chiefs throw shade as revenge waits

This is a topic of conversation because the Chiefs are heading to Las Vegas this week in search of revenge. And this rivalry already existed because of the two annual meetings. Now the Chiefs may want to drop 50 points as a lesson in respect.

Just don’t count the Raiders out yet. They are 6-3 and a victory puts them one game behind the Chiefs in the division with the edge in the head-to-head matchup. That locker room can also see Kelce throw some shade and use it as their own motivation. The outcome is what should be a great game Sunday night for a national audience.

Taking a victory lap on the bus following a road win is a bit petty, but it only adds to the fun of this rivalry. If the Chiefs didn’t want the Raiders to celebrate they could have always just won the game.

Giving a team like the Chiefs added motivation is not always a wise move. However, these are NFL players so the built-in motivation is already there. This will be a true test for the defending champions to see if they are still the kings in the AFC, or if a team like the Raiders can usurp their AFC West crown.
