Pick Analysis. SG. player. Scouting Report. Indiana Pacers. Victor Oladipo. 2. 100

While the Oladipo trade rumors were in full blaze in the early parts of the offseason Oladipo has tried to put the fire out somewhat by reaffirming his desire to be in Indiana as the Pacers look to get back to the postseason. Even with Oladipo’s semi-assurance that he’s in it for the long haul in Indiana, the Pacers should still listen if desperation creates a need for Oladipo’s services, and Thompson’s injury has given Golden State a huge wound that they need to close by trading for a star like Oladipo.

Andrew Wiggins could be an interesting piece going to Indiana in this deal. While he isn’t a good defender and is owed a ton of money, he is a proven scorer at all three levels in this league, and it could help give the Pacers’ offense some juice if Oladipo ends up with the Warriors.

Oladipo could be an ideal replacement, as he is the closest thing to Thompson in terms of his combination of bucket-getting ability, excellent perimeter defense, and a knack for creating offense with crisp passing. Oladipo is going to take quite the haul to acquire, and the tradeable assets cupboard is somewhat bare in Golden State given their half-decade of dominance, but this is still a road Bob Myers and the front office should consider if they want to get the Warriors a second perimeter star.
