The Miami Dolphins franchise has had a rather drastic transformation under second-year head coach Brian Flores. After compiling picks and clearing cap space last year, the team had an active offseason and is currently contending in the AFC playoff picture.

Tua Tagovailoa is now the quarterback under center, and he has had mixed individual results so far. More importantly, the team has won with him regardless of his personal numbers.

Rather quietly, the Dolphins have scored quite a few points in an offense that does not necessarily light it up. Especially since the move to Tagovailoa. Regardless of how they do it, the team scores, and that is why you should look into some skill position players like tight end Mike Gesicki.

Now, Gesicki has been rather inconsistent in 2020. He had a monster game in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills with eight catches for 130 yards on 11 targets with one score. Outside of that performance, and a steady game in Week 5 against the San Franciso 49ers, his production has been less than expected.

With Tagovailoa, Gesicki has been worked back into the fold more, which should be no surprise. Rookie quarterbacks seem to always like to lean on their tight ends, and this is why Gesicki should be a streamline option for Week 12.

In Weeks 9 and 10, Gesicki saw his production rise with back-to-back 40+-yard games. This week, the Dolphins play the New York Jets, and Gesicki could end up going for a big game.

Defensively, the Jets have been decent defending tight ends, but this unit has surrendered a few touchdowns to the position. With a rookie under center against a defense somewhat vulnerable against tight ends, Gesicki seems poised to see action in Week 12.
