2020 NFL power rankings, Week 13: Titans roll, Raiders humbled
The Bolts shuffled off to Buffalo looking to win back-to-back games for the first time all season. And this time it was the Chargers who fell behind big and tried to mount a comeback.
Anthony Lynn’s club was down 24-6 in the third quarter but came up with some big plays on defense and narrows the deficit to seven points. But there were some questionable decisions down the stretch. Defensive end Joey Bosa had three sacks in the latest losing effort.
The play of quarterback Carson Wentz continues to be a concern as on Monday night, the team will play host to the Seahawks for the third time in just over a calendar year.
The fifth-year signal-caller was part of a team that has turned over the ball 20 times in 10 games and Wentz has all but two of those miscues via 14 interceptions while losing four of his 10 fumbles. Philadelphia’s run defense has also been a surprising disappointment this season.
The team was not only looking for a second straight win but could sweep the rival Cowboys for the first time since 2012. Rookie running back Antonio Gibson totaled 20 carries for 115 yards and three touchdowns as Washington’s ground game finished with 182 yards.
Jack Del Rio’s defense totaled four sacks and Ron Rivera’s club came up with two crucial takeaways. Down 10-7 in the second quarter, Washington outscored Dallas, 34-6, the rest of the way.
Another Thanksgiving Day and another loss for a franchise which now owns a 37-42-2 lifetime record on Turkey Day. Matt Patricia’s club committed three first-half turnovers but owned a 14-13 second-quarter lead (both TDs via Adrian Peterson) before it fell apart.
Matthew Stafford threw for 295 yards and one score (one interception returned for a touchdown) but was sacked four times. And Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn were fired on Saturday.
