Matt Rhule’s club pitched a shutout last Sunday vs. the Lions and now hit the road to take on the Vikings. The team wound up gaining 374 total yards but the Panthers’ offense managed only one touchdown as Teddy Bridgewater connected on a 41-yard score to Robby Anderson.
Rookie Jeremy Chinn had quite the afternoon, finishing with 13 tackles and returning two Vikings’ fumbles for touchdowns. But the Carolina defense couldn’t protect a late lead.
Big Blue was seeking its first three-game winning streak since 2016 as they traveled to Cincinnati for the first time since 2012.
Before leaving the game in the third quarter with a hamstring issue (via ESPN’s Jordan Raanan), Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 213 yards. The New York running game finished with 142 yards on 42 attempts. And kicker Graham Gano connected from 49, 40, 39 and 32 yards, respectively, as Joe Judge’s club prevailed again.
The defending conference champions brought a three-game losing streak into this divisional rivalry but was also in position to sweep the Rams for the second consecutive year. It was a mistake-plagued contest as San Francisco (3) and Los Angeles (4) combined for seven turnovers.
The Niners squandered a 17-6 third-quarter lead and trailed by three early in the fourth. But Robbie Gould connected on two field goals, including a 42-yarder as time expired.
