5 replacements for Doug Pederson as Eagles head coach

Things didn’t end well for Bowles in New York given his 14-34 record in his final three seasons, but Adam Gase’s performance shows that it’s difficult to win with the Jets, and Bowles was hampered by a few factors during his stint in New York. In addition to the fact his quarterbacks during his Jets stint were Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh McCown, and Sam Darnold, Bowles constantly cycled through offensive coordinators.
If Bowles gets another HC job and he ropes in a very qualified, schematically brilliant coordinator to handle the offense, the Eagles could be in a prime position to contend.
Bowles has revitalized a previously awful Tampa Bay defense. With the Kansas City game notwithstanding, Bowles has Tampa boasting an elite run defense and one of the most versatile young secondaries in the game. The Eagles have studs up front in Fletcher Cox and on the back end in Darius Slay, and Bowles could help that unit be even better than what Jim Schwartz has concocted this season. Bowles, who has experience coaching in Philadelphia, could prove his worth as a head coach with the Eagles provided he makes great hires around him on the staff.
