4. Jared Goff vs. Kyler Murray

In many ways, Goff and Murray are complete opposites. They may be NFL starting quarterbacks in the same division, but they go about their business in completely different manners.

Murray is a free-spirit who thrives when he’s given the freedom to make plays on the fly. His marauding scrambles down the field are the stuff of legend. His exceptional arm strength puts immense pressure on opposing secondaries.

There’s probably a big part of Goff that wishes he could be more like his Cardinals counterpart. The former California star is the very definition of a system quarterback for Sean McVay. He needs to have every step of his play choreographed with precision if he’s going to play at a high level. Any deviation from the Rams’ offensive gameplan typically ends in disaster for their quarterback.

Fortunately for Goff, he does have McVay at the controls of his attack. The degree of difficulty for the Rams offense is quite high, but it can hum at a high level when everything is clicking. That’s not a problem that plagues the Cardinals. Everything in their game plan can break down and Murray can still conjure a big play out of thin air. That’s a massive advantage for Arizona in their quest to overtake the Rams in the division standings this week.
