Fantasy Football 2020: 5 bold predictions for Week 13
By Dustin Baker
2. The Steelers stifle Antonio Gibson
Gibson ranks 12th in the NFL in rushing yards. He also ranks third in the business for rushing touchdowns. Washington employs this quite rookie force at running back that [somehow] flies under the radar. The 22-year-old is having the type of first year that will be largely unheralded because he plays on a franchise with an upside-down record. The next thing you know, Gibson will be 24 or 25 years-old and ranking in the top three for rushing yards in a season. His maturation is following the curve of a damn-good emergent running back.
However, his pace will be slowed against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is in the business of thwarting halfbacks. They allow just under 13 PPR points per game to opposing running backs — good enough for fourth-best in the league behind the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Atlanta Falcons. There are multiple reasons that Pittsburgh is the only undefeated team in the land. This is one of them.
Gibson’s addition to these bold predictions is not an endorsement to bench the man. But you should fully expect production south of 12 points in Week 13. The Steelers have let an opponent rush for over 100 yards once in 2020. That was rookie J.K. Dobbins in Week 8.
