Minnesota Vikings. 18. team. 60. . 6-6. Previous:

Minnesota was back at home for the third consecutive Sunday and took on the Jaguars. The Purple Gang dug itself an early hole, down 9-0 in the second quarter. And things got worse right after halftime as Kirk Cousins served up a pick-six and Minnesota trailed by 10 points. But the quarterback would bounce back and throw for 305 yards and three scores by game’s end. Dan Bailey had a rough day but nailed a 23-yard field goal in overtime for the victory.

Bill Belichick’s club had a chance to get back to the .500 mark if they could best the Chargers in Los Angeles. The Patriots would find the end zone six times despite gaining only 291 total yards. Quarterback Cam Newton found N’Keal Harry for a score and also ran for two touchdowns. The Pats’ special teams scored via a punt return (Gunner Olszewski) and a blocked field goal (Devin McCourty) and the former caught a TD pass from Jarrett Stidham.

31. . 5-7. Previous: . New York Giants. 16. team

Winners of three straight games, Joe Judge’s club headed to the Pacific Northwest. Wayne Gallman Jr. ran 16 times for 135 yards and veteran Alfred Morris scored both of the team’s touchdowns, one each on the ground and through the air. The Giants’ improving defense sacked Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson five times and forced him into a pair of turnovers. And backup quarterback/turned starter Colt McCoy made just enough key plays.
