The Cardinals need to be on upset alert in New York

One of the craziest moments of the season was when Arizona won on a Hail Mary pass from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins back in Week 10. The win helped the Cardinals improve to 6-3, but the problem is they haven’t won a game since then.

If Buffalo’s defenders had knocked that ball down we would be having a much different conversation about the Cardinals, who would be on a five-game losing streak and in clear panic mode. Arizona is 6-6 and still in the thick of the NFC wild-card race but they have to actually start winning to make some progress.

This week sees the Cardinals flying across the country for a 1:00 p.m. ET game against the resurgent New York Giants, who have won four in a row to surge into first place in the NFC East. The Giants also just went to Seattle and beat the Seahawks without their starting quarterback, using a spider web style defense to harass Russell Wilson, yet Arizona is favored by three points in the matchup.

That line is full of disrespect for the Giants, who have looked like the much better football team of late and can use a similar defensive game plan to stymie Murray on Sunday. The Cardinals need to put forth a much better effort to avoid getting upset in a game that would severely damage their playoff hopes if they lose it.
