Scouting Report. Jacksonville Jaguars. 1. player. Pick Analysis. AFC. Current Head Coach: Doug Marrone. 52

Doug Marrone is in his last month as the Jaguars’ head coach, to complete a fast fall from having a lead over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game three years ago. Over the last three seasons, Jacksonville is 12-32 (1-11 right now this season, with a 10-game losing streak going).

The New York Jets are in the lead to “Tank For Trevor” (Lawrence), so the Jaguars have their fans “Lustin’ for Justin” (Fields) as the team’s quarterback of the future. Aside from the big quarterback question facing them, Jacksonville has some pieces of what could be a good offense in 2021.

In 2016, after Tony Romo was injured in a late preseason game, the Cowboys and Garrett had to turn to a rookie quarterback name Dak Prescott. A 13-3 record with the league’s fifth-best offense (scoring as well as total yardage) followed. The Jaguars probably won’t turn it around that quickly and win 13 games next year, but Garrett has experience with a young quarterbacks surrounded by interesting pieces (including this year with the Giants, really). As Jacksonville moves forward with a new head coach and quarterback soon, they can do far worse than Garrett and whoever they draft in April.
