College football DFS running back picks December 19:

Top Tier:

I’m a huge fan of Mohamed Ibrahim, but I’m in no hurry to run him against the Wisconsin defense. Breece Hall is $500 cheaper and still putup 30.7 DraftKings points on the Sooners the first time around. I see him outscoring Ibrahim.

Rhamondre Stevenson was still suspended the first time Oklahoma played Iowa State. The offense took off when he returned. Stevenson himself hasn’t had under 20 DraftKings points in a game this year. I doubt that happens here either.

If you only read the stats, you would completely move off of Kyren Williams. A closer look reveals that he was the reason the Irish beat Clemson the first time around. I see Clemson trying to lock him down this time though. He’s a bit of a risk, but he’s capable of putting up well over 30 points if you’re willing to take the risk. He had 35.8 the first time around.

Middle Tier:

This is a huge spot for Jerrion Ealy and Snoop Connor. Florida struggled with LSU because they can’t run the ball. Both A&M backs had success against the Tigers. Teams that can run still give them problems. Ole Miss is a better running team than you think. I like both backs here.

Isaiah Spiller doubles as a battering ram, so I’m not worried about the Tennessee front. Ainias Smith is going to get plenty of work as a receiver out of the backfield as well, but Spiller is my first pick from this backfield.

Ty Jordan has 314 rushing yards on 44 carries over the last two games. He’s going to run wild on Wazzu as well, but he doesn’t have quite the upside that those above him do.

Elijah Mitchell put up a solid 18 DraftKings points against CCU in the first meeting. That’s a good return at his price range when many will fade this matchup. I’ll have some exposure to Mitchell looking for low ownership.

This is a huge spot for Jashaun Corbin and Lawrance Toafill. In fact, I think I prefer Toafill here based on price. Florida State is looking towards the future. They aren’t going to completely phase out Corbin, but I’m betting this is closer to a 50/50 timeshare than anything else.

Bargain Shoppers:

Again, I prefer to use Jo’quavious Marks to the freshman Dillon Johnson if you plan on trying to get to the Missouri defense. The way to do it is on the ground, or in Mississippi State’s case, in short passes to running backs and receivers out of the backfield.

The Mississippi State run defense has been surprisingly good. For that reason I’m fading Rountree and going with Tyler Badie as a punt. Badie is the perfect compliment to Rountree because he provides a much different look that can catch a defense off balance. That’s what I’m aiming for in a value play.

Davis-Price is sitting out against Ole Miss, so expect a heavy workload for Chris Curry against a porous defense. He’s a great value at this price. Tre Bradford may be as well.
