Packers force Teddy Bridgewater fumble at goal line in saddest turnover of 2020 (Video)
Teddy Bridgewater shouldn’t have been the guy to fumble it.
The 2020 NFL season is one filled with sorrow for many both on and off the field. From limited fans, to COVID-19 protocols and a bundle of bad teams, it feels like a lost season for several franchises.
Teddy Bridgewater was supposed to be the feel-good story for the year. Instead, he likely just committed the saddest turnover anyone has seen through 15 weeks.
Down at the goal line, it looked as if the Carolina Panthers were set to score. Hoping to keep it himself, the former Saints and Vikings quarterback extended the ball across the line of scrimmage.
It could have been called a touchdown. Instead, it was deflected by a slew Green Bay Packers players and taken back the other way by Kevin King into Green Bay territory.
Aaron Jones would score several plays later to give the Packers a 21-3 lead.
Is Bridgewater playing for his job?
Bridgewater is far from the biggest problem for the Panthers during their 4-9 season. He’s played well as an average quarterback, throwing for over 3,000 yards and only eight interceptions.
The problem is, he’s only thrown 14 touchdowns without Christian McCaffrey in the fold.
The Panthers could be looking to upgrade under center this offseason come draft weekend. Plays like this, although far from all of Bridgewater’s fault, might be used a receipt.
