One of the more disappointing teams in the NFL this season has been the Houston Texans. Consistently hovering around the playoff picture in years past, the team was doomed from the start of this campaign. Former head coach and acting general manager Bill O’Brien shockingly traded DeAndre Hopkins this past offseason, which took a huge weapon away from Deshaun Watson.

Now, the Texans are 4-10 and Watson is doing whatever he can to win. Since the team is consistently trying to fight back, he has been asked to throw a lot. He has thrown for over 30+ pass attempts in nearly every game played, which means his receivers get a lot of action.

Since Hopkins is gone, and Will Fuller has been suspended, this has led to players like Keke Coutee becoming more involved. Coutee had a huge game in Week 13 when he saw nine targets and caught eight passes for 141 yards. The next week, he had just 24 yards, but he did haul in a touchdown.

In Week 16, the Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals. The team’s defense has held their own at times, but this unit is still towards the top of the league in points allowed. Against opponent receivers, this defense has been better. Although, it feels inevitable that a Houston receiver goes for a big game against them this week. Meaning, Coutee could be that guy.

Coutee currently projects as the team’s second receiver behind Brandin Cooks. In this offense, with as many pass attempts as there are, it seems safe to believe he can be a rather productive option this week with major upside.
