The quarterback carousel that the Denver Broncos have been stuck on since Peyton Manning retired may be at least slowing down to avoid nausea. Although, it could kick up to full speed at any moment.

Drew Lock is the reason for that potential speed decrease. The former second-round pick has had ups and downs to begin his career, but he may be coming into form with more weapons around him and more of an understanding of what it takes to play quarterback at the NFL level.

Although, Lock does still turn the ball over too much. But, in Week 14, he had probably the best game of his career against the Carolina Panthers when he went 21/27 with four touchdown throws, no interceptions and 280 yards. According to Pro Football Reference, his quarterback rating was 149.5.

Now, of course, Lock could come right back down to Earth and struggle again. Although, with the emergence of players like KJ Hamler to play alongside the likes of Melvin Gordon, Tim Patrick, Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant and a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16, there is hope he can continue to build.

Defensively, the Chargers have given up a rather large number of points. While this defense has limited the passing yard totals against them, they have surrendered a steady-volume of passing scores and fantasy returns for opposing signal-callers.

This game could become a high-scoring affair with two young quarterbacks who can throw the ball around the yard going at it with Lock and rookie Justin Herbert. With the potential of a ton of points and the Chargers’ lack of consistency against the pass, Lock could build off that huge game he had in Week 14.
