Dallas Mavericks guard Josh Richardson was extremely hyped to find out that Arsenal defeated Chelsea.

There is no underestimating the power the English Premier League has on professional sports fans. No matter who you talk to, they’re bound to reveal which squad they pledge their allegiance to. The same can be said of professional athletes, as evidenced by Dallas Mavericks guard Josh Richardson.

Following Dallas’ 124-73 blowout win over the LA Clippers on Sunday, Richardson was informed by the broadcast crew interviewing him that Arsenal defeated Chelsea. After hearing of this news, Richardson let out a jubilant cheer and a double fist pump.

Arsenal decisively defeated Chelsea last Saturday, and Josh Richardson loved it

In the aforementioned match, Arsenal entered halftime with a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka. Arsenal would add to their lead with a goal by Bukayo Saka, leading to a 3-1 victory.

As it turned out, the Mavericks had themselves quite the big win as well this past Sunday. Without Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers were essentially useless as they entered halftime with a ridiculous 77-27 deficit. In fact, the Mavericks’ 50-point halftime lead was the largest of the shot clock era.

During that historic contest, Richardson recorded 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal, while shooting 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-8 from the 3-point line.

In case you didn’t realize this beforehand, athletes are as big of fans as the rest of us. If you needed further proof, just look at Richardson’s joy when finding out his favorite soccer team won.
