The Tennessee Titans beat the Texans and clinched the AFC South in one of the most dramatic and ridiculous ways anyone could have imagined.

The Titans and Texans were all set for overtime to settle their season finale. Then the unexpected happened.

Tennessee came away with a 41-38 victory in regulation after heroics from A.J. Brown and a heart-stopping kick against the uprights.

The last two minutes of the game were bonkers. Ryan Tannehill gave the Titans the lead with 1:42 on the clock before Houston came down and tied the game with 18 seconds to go on a Ka’imi Fairbairn 51-yard field goal.

Tennessee wasn’t interested in seeing out the clock for overtime though. Tannehill went deep for Brown, who made an outstanding grab to give the Titans a chance for a field goal.

Sam Sloman got a couple of chances at the kick. The Texans spent a timeout to ice him on his first attempt and it almost worked. The second time he booted the 37-yarder it hooked right into the uprights with the sound no kicker wants to hear: Doink.

Except the doink wasn’t a herald of an opportunity missed. The ball bounced through the uprights and Tennessee prevailed in dramatic fashion.

The Titans clinched the division with an unbelievable finish

The Texans were playing for pride, but the Titans had a lot riding on the outcome of Sunday’s game, beyond simply working to get Derrick Henry past the 2,000-yard mark.

Since the Colts had already won to move to 11-5 on the season, Tennessee needed a win to win the AFC South. It’s their first division title since 2008.

The win over Houston ensured the No. 4 seed for the Titans instead of a wildcard spot. They’ll meet the Ravens, the runner-up in the AFC North. The Colts will battle the No. 2-seed Buffalo Bills.
