OLB. Von Miller . 1. player. 45. Pick Analysis. Denver Broncos. Scouting Report

With John Elway stepping up into a new role, the Broncos are going after a new general manager. That means they’ll build the team in their image and have to make a tough decision on defense with two stars.

Does the team pick up Von Miller’s option? Do they try to re-sign Justin Simmons to a long-term deal? Will both players just walk?

Right now, the team needs to build up their secondary to stop Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert from tearing them apart for the next decade. Miller is coming off a severe ankle injury and will be 32 this offseason. With a top 10 pick, Denver has a chance to take one of the top pass rushers to pair with Bradley Chubb for at least another two years.

It’s always risky to pick up an aging player’s contract, but it’s even riskier when he’s the face of the franchise. A new GM, though, doesn’t owe Miller anything moving into the future. That could mean the end of his tenure in Mile High.
