Josh Jacobs’ DUI mugshot features scary scar on forehead
By Mark Powell
Josh Jacobs was suspected of a DUI just hours after the Raiders win over the Broncos.
Jacobs, through his agent, has denied these charges. The 22-year-old was pulled over by Las Vegas metropolitan police early Monday morning as authorities were responding to a single-vehicle crash near McCarran Airport. Police suspected that Jacobs was driving under the influence, and took him to Clark County Detention Center shortly after a brief trip to the hospital.
Yet, Jacobs denies any wrongdoing any claims that no charges have been filed against him.
“No complaint has been filed against our client and there are no blood test results to support a suggestion of impairment,” Jacobs’ lawyer said in a statement. “We intend to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of Mr. Jacobs if he is ever charged.”
Charges or not, Jacobs should consider himself lucky
Car accidents are traumatic regardless of if alcohol is involved, and a photo of Jacobs from after the incident suggests he’s lucky to come away without significant injury.
The Raiders and John Gruden commented on Jacobs’ situation early this week.
“The Raiders are aware of the situation involving Josh Jacobs,” the team said. “The organization takes these matters seriously and we have no further comment at this time.”
Gruden was similarly vague about Jacobs, preferring to allow the legal process to take its course.
“We’re just aware of it. I will say that Josh is OK and I’m not at liberty to comment on it until I get more facts,” Gruden said. “But we do have word that Josh is OK and we are looking into the matter.”
Jacobs has a court appearance scheduled for early March. It remains to be seen what — if any — charges he’ll face at that point.
