Pick Analysis. WR. Indianapolis Colts. T.Y. Hilton . player. 46. Scouting Report. 1

Should the Colts not bring back Rivers, they’d be looking at either prepping Jacob Eason or adding another name via trade. The team has been linked to potentially Sam Darnold, Carson Wentz or Matthew Stafford, but none of them is a free agent.

It doesn’t matter who is taking the snap. What matters are the weapons for the future. T.Y. Hilton is more than just another wide receiver in the NFL. He is the face of the Colts’ offense and has been since his arrival with Luck back in 2012.

The 31-year-old has finished with five 1,000-plus yard seasons and seven years of at least 850. Down the stretch, Hilton was on fire, finishing the last six games with 27 catches for 435 yards and scoring all five touchdowns.

That’s how you enter negations with the hometown team.

Despite Pittman and Campbell being young, they aren’t proven like Hilton. The team has the money to offer him a serviceable deal and still be players for another top name on the market. It’s a win-win for all involved.

Hilton keeps the chains moving, meaning the Colts’ offense can stay dangerous. It feels like a no-brainer for both Ballard and Hilton to make this happen.
