Skip Bayless cements Chiefs victory by picking an ‘upset special’ in divisional round
By John Buhler
Skip Bayless has officially poked the bear by thinking the Kansas City Chiefs will lose Sunday.
With FS1’s Skip Bayless believing the No. 6 Cleveland Browns will go into Arrowhead Stadium and upset the No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, it almost certainly guarantees another playoff victory for Patrick Mahomes and the rest of Chiefs Kingdom.
The Undisputed co-host argues that the Chiefs have not played a great game in well over a month and that the last time Mahomes played three weeks ago, he did not even look good against the flightless Atlanta Falcons. While there is some credibility to that argument, as well as the Chiefs’ tortured history of losing playoff games at home, who is seriously betting on the Browns to win?
The Browns are not giving us a repeat performance from last week
Cleveland is coming off its first playoff win since 1994. The Browns’ victory over the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers was the first since Bill Belichick beat his mentor Bill Parcells’ New England Patriots. The Baltimore Ravens did not exist and starting quarterback Baker Mayfield was not even born yet. Simply put, Cleveland is more likely to let us down than Kansas City imploding.
Sure, the Chiefs may struggle against the Browns because Cleveland is a good football team and these are the NFL playoffs. However, for Bayless to be this adamant about the Browns going into Arrowhead and advancing to the AFC Championship game is only wishful thinking. While it could happen, the Browns are one of the least likely teams to advance to the next round this weekend.
Chiefs Kingdom will eat Bayless alive for him doubting their beloved team should the Chiefs win.
