Despite their surge down the stretch of the regular season, the Ravens will need to address the interior of the offensive line given the protection issues that at one point looked like they would lead to Baltimore missing the postseason.

The Ravens have proven unable to replace All-Pro guard Marshal Yanda adequately following his retirement in the wake of the 2019 season.

Humphrey brings the positional flexibility to potentially serve as an alternative at guard, but he has made his name with the Sooners as an extremely dependable center, a position where the Ravens could use his reliability.

Patrick Mekari’s versatility has seen him earn regular starts at center, with undrafted free agent Trystan Colon-Castillo starting in Week 17 in place of the injured Mekari instead of Matt Skura because of Skura’s problems snapping the football.

The addition of Humphrey would offer the Ravens another versatile presence up front but, predominantly, it would give them a day-one starter at center whose arrival could allow Mekari to provide extra competition at guard.

The Ravens drafted Humphrey’s former Oklahoma teammate, guard Ben Powers, in the fourth round in 2019, and their familiarity could ensure Lamar Jackson is protected by a more cohesive unit in 2021.
