NFL free agency rumors: 3 free agents the Bills should target for 2021 offseason
Most teams struggle each season because they can’t find the answer at quarterback. It’s why you see GM’s trying to draft the next “it” guy to fix the franchise all by himself.
Josh Allen in three years has gone from future bust to All-Pro quarterback. That’s in large part due to Brian Daboll’s adjustments, but a good offensive line will help. Buffalo is far from perfect in the trenches, but his unit has helped Allen become the first franchise quarterback in Orchard Park since Jim Kelly.
Buffalo will have to decide between paying Jon Feliciano, Matt Milano and Daryl Williams. Feliciano is beloved by the team and should return, but what about Williams and Milano? The cover linebacker is critical to Buffalo’s pass defense, but he could garner plenty of rich deals on the open market.
Teams live and die by quarterback play, so why ruin the formula that works for Allen?
Williams had a resurgence working with the former Carolina Panthers personnel. Drafted to help Cam Newton‘s progression, the 28-year-old has done that for Allen’s mobility and pocket awareness. And with one year of success, Williams could be in for another cheaper deal.
This is Allen’s team now. Priority No.1 is to keep him safe. Williams must be a name the Bills speak with this offseason.
