Michigan congratulates Tom Brady, former Wolverines on reaching Super Bowl 55
Michigan football helped make Tom Brady who he is today. They congratulated him as he heads to his 10th Super Bowl in 21 years.
Somehow, in some way, Tom Brady still is defying the odds at quarterback. Now, the 43-year-old is back in the Super Bowl with his new team.
Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held on against the Green Bay Packers to pick up the 31-26 victory in the NFC Championship Game. With the team’s victory, they now will be the first franchise in the Super Bowl-era to host a Super Bowl in their own stadium.
Meanwhile, Brady just proved to the NFL world that he not only is the greatest quarterback to ever grace the game but also is the architect behind the New England Patriots‘ dynasty. Take that Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft.
Before though he was ever the G.O.A.T., he was simply Thomas Brady, starting quarterback of the Michigan Wolverines. Brady’s alma mater couldn’t help but be proud of the job he’s done thus far and the Michigan football account tweeted praise for Brady and the other alums to make Super Bowl 55.
Tom Brady has made 10 Super Bowls since leaving Michigan
Brady, who owns six Super Bowl rings with New England, now heads to his 10th NFL championship game with his new team. He finished with three touchdowns early, giving the Buccaneers a 17-point lead. He also threw three interceptions that nearly cost them the win.
In a game that was won by the defense, Brady still is the storyline. The Buccaneers pass rush was able to take down Aaron Rodgers five times in sixty minutes. Meanwhile, Matt LaFleur’s curious late call on fourth-and-goal by the Packers to take the field ultimately was the knife in the coffin.
Brady went 20-of-36 for 280 yards on the afternoon. Although it wasn’t perfect, he did enough to secure a win. And never forget how proud all of Big Blue country is of their superstar quarterback on Sunday evening.
