9. Trevin Wallace, LB, 4-star

Prediction: Auburn Tigers

Trevin Wallace has been one of the biggest overall risers in the 2021 recruiting cycle, which makes his journey to this point make all the more sense. He was an early commitment for Boston College but, as more big-time offers started to pour in for the linebacker out of Jesup, GA, he ultimately reopened his decision on Nov. 29. Now he’s likely looking to head to a bigger opportunity in the SEC.

In the Composite Rankings, Wallace is ranked as the No. 205 overall recruit and the No. 12 player at inside linebacker. However, it’s worth noting that 247Sports has him just shy of a 5-star player as the No. 35 overall player and second-best at the position. He was a do-it-all star in high school on both sides of the ball but his explosiveness and love of physicality seemingly lend itself to playing linebacker.

The leaders in the race to sign Wallace appear to be the Auburn Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats with the Ole Miss Rebels emerging as a dark horse. When it comes down to it, though, it definitely feels like Wallace is going to end up bolstering an Auburn recruiting class that needs a splash on National Signing Day.

With the coaching change for the Tigers, Bryan Harsin needs to make some big moves as Auburn ranks just No. 47 nationally in the recruiting class rankings. Wallace would strengthen that a great deal and, perhaps more importantly, can help the program re-establish its defensive identity. Taking all that into account, I imagine an all-out blitz that will land the Tigers the enticing linebacker.
