2. The offensive line will get healthy

In retrospect, nearly everyone overlooked the impact that Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz had on Super Bowl 55. More specifically, their absence as Kansas City’s starting tackles permitted Tampa Bay’s defense to dominate the game with their front four.

Mike Remmers was a disaster at left tackle against the Buccaneers. Getting Fisher back to take his place immediately serves as a massive upgrade for Kansas City’s offensive line. A reasonable argument can be made that the Chiefs need to acquire more depth behind Fisher in 2021, but it was never reasonable to expect the franchise to have two top quality left tackles on their active roster.

Andrew Wylie wasn’t much better on the right side. Again, he was never supposed to be the team’s starter in a game of this magnitude. Mitchell Schwartz was supposed to be that guy but he was also down due to injury. His return to the lineup will do wonders for Mahomes in 2021.

Ultimately, the Chiefs need to acquire better offensive line depth in the offseason, but they also need better injury luck up front if they want to win Super Bowl 56. This group looks a lot better with Fisher and Schwartz on the edges.
