Pick Analysis. Notre Dame. player. Scouting Report. OT. Liam Eichenberg. 2.. 819

Luckily for the Seahawks, the offensive tackle class in the 2021 NFL Draft is pretty stacked. So much so, that Seattle can land a starting left tackle of the future in the second round! Given that Duane Brown is turning 36 this year, the Seahawks need to have a player waiting in the wings.

Considering the Seahawks’ first pick of the entire draft is 56th overall, one of the top tackles available is Notre Dame’s Liam Eichenberg.

In the 2016 recruiting class, Eichenberg was a four-star recruit and ranked seventh among all offensive tackles in the country, per 247Sports. Throughout his playing days at Notre Dame, Eichenberg was one of the most consistent left tackles in the country. In his first full season as a starter in 2018, Eichenberg surrendered just three sacks. In 2019, Eichenberg didn’t allow a single sack on quarterback Ian Book, only nine hurries and three quarterback hits, according to Eichenberg’s Notre Dame profile page. This past season, Eichenberg went 455 pass-block snaps without surrendering a sack, per Pro Football Focus.

Wilson would love to have Eichenberg’s 6-foot-6, 302-pound frame blocking his blindside for the remainder of his career. It might take a miracle for the Notre Dame tackle to drop all the way down to No. 56 on the draft board, but the Seahawks should not hesitate to select him once he’s there.
