With J.J. Watt becoming a free agent, Stefon Diggs began recruiting him to the Buffalo Bills.

On Friday, the expected became a reality, as the Houston Texans and defensive end J.J. Watt agreed to part ways. However, it did not come via a trade, but through a release. With Watt now hitting the open market, every NFL fan and pundit is giving their predictions as to where the former three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year will land.

Watt’s brother, T.J., unsurprisingly started recruiting his older brother to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the form of a GIF of The Rock. Hours later, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs sent a tweet to the former Texan, asking for him to hear him out.

Watt an explosive addition to Buffalo’s defense

The Bills are in a position where they can build upon their roster to make a run to the Super Bowl. This past season, the Bills were one win away from reaching Super Bowl 55, but lost 38-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Buffalo does not necessarily need to add a pass rusher this offseason, as they did record the15th-most sacks in the league with 38. But, adding Watt to a defensive line of Ed Oliver, Mario Addison and Quinton Jefferson would do wonders for Leslie Frazier’s defense. And it could work out for Watt as well.

This past season, Watt recorded 52 tackles (14 for loss), 17 quarterback hits, seven passes defended, five sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. Not the greatest year for Watt, as compared to his previous campaigns, but his star power is something teams won’t pass up on.

Diggs might have to do some heavy convincing to prevent Watt from joining his brothers in Pittsburgh, but you have to admire his persistence. Much like Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz, J.J. Watt is a name fans will be keeping an eye on throughout what should be a wild offseason.
