The Packers need to have a productive offseason to give Aaron Rodgers another chance at a Super Bowl title. Here are five free agents that can help.

This offseason gives the Packers another chance to increase Aaron Rodgers’ chances of winning another Super Bowl in Green Bay. That should be the front office’s primary direction each offseason until their Hall of Fame quarterback elects to hang up his cleats.

Fortunately for the higher-ups in Green Bay, there aren’t too many holes to fill. Finding a top-flight wideout to make Rodgers’ life easier should be a top priority. Adding a talented cornerback capable of elevating the team’s secondary shouldn’t be far behind.

The Packers will elect to satisfy some of their needs in April’s draft, but free agency will also play a big part in reconstructing the 2021 roster. Here are five players the team should target on the open market.

5. Patrick Peterson

Peterson is no longer the dominant cover corner he was during his athletic prime, but he could be a useful veteran acquisition for a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. He still runs well for the position and his ball skills still permit him to produce turnovers at an above-average rate.

Signing him to a multi-year deal should be out of the question. The Packers should target Peterson on a one-year deal that pays him like the No. 2 or No. 3 cornerback he is at this stage of his career. He’ll have plenty of options from interested teams once he hits free agency, but a chance to win a title in Green Bay should intrigue the talented defensive back.
