Merlin Robertson. 134. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Arizona State. player. LB

The Eagles’ decision on whether or not to re-sign Nigel Bradham in free agency could push linebacker up their list of needs in the draft. If Bradham does come back, the Eagles can wait until the later rounds to add a developmental prospect.

That description fits Robertson perfectly. He’s got an outside chance to grow into a starter in time, but the more likely outcome for him as a prospect is that he settles into a nice backup role. The Eagles should be attracted to his ability to hold up in coverage. Landing Robertson and getting immediate help from him in sub-packages would be a win for Philadelphia.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South Carolina. 54. CB. Isreal Mukuamu. 140. player

Taking Mukuamu would give the Eagles a bit of a wild card at this juncture in the draft. Scouts aren’t sure if he’s got the speed and quickness to stay at cornerback at the next level. What everyone can be sure of is his combination of size and toughness in the secondary.

At worst, Mukuamu can move back to safety and be an aggressive option on the strong side for Philadelphia. He should contribute right away on special teams. He’s a nice developmental prospect to add to the Eagles’ defensive depth chart in Round 5.
