1. Jameis Winston

Most NFL pundits seem to believe Winston is destined to re-sign with the Saints. The Bears should strongly consider stepping in to upset New Orleans’ plans. Winston would represent a big gamble at the quarterback position, but it’s a make-or-break year for Nagy no matter what.

Winston doesn’t have the type of mobility Nagy typically looks for in a quarterback, but his elite arm talent can open up Chicago’s offense in other ways. There’s never been a question about Winston’s ability to make exceptional throws down the field.

There are, however, questions about whether or not Winston has learned to be less turnover prone. That torpedoed his career in Tampa Bay. The hope is that a year of learning under Sean Payton has helped him excise that cancer from his game.

The Bears need to acquire a difference-maker under center to help cover up for their lack of talent at the wide receiver position. Winston has the highest ceiling of any quarterback available in free agency. That makes him a worthwhile gamble for the Bears this offseason.
