1. Marcus Mariota

Mariota failed to unseat Derek Carr as the Raiders’ starting quarterback, but he is good enough to knock Roethlisberger off his perch in Pittsburgh. His combination of exceptional mobility and above-average arm strength would really open up Mike Tomlin’s offense.

The biggest knock on Mariota as a starter is his inability to stay healthy. The Steelers would need to be careful with how many hits they permit him to take, but he can still give their offense much-needed juice in 2021.

Obviously, Mariota is still a member of the Raiders’ organization at the moment. It’s possible Las Vegas will cut him to avoid paying him in excess of $10 million next year, but they might hang on to him long enough to force the Steelers to acquire him via trade.

Even if they’re forced to part with a mid-round pick, landing Mariota would be worth the cost for the Steelers. He’s not going to revolutionize their offense, but he can grow into a top-15 starter inside Pittsburgh’s comfortable ecosystem. That would be good enough to make the Steelers Super Bowl contenders once again.
